Exmoor Ponies were out in force at the NPS Champs this year with many of our breed collecting top accolades. The beautiful young stallion, Warrenmere Woodcock, took the highest honour with a glittering NPS Gold Medal being awarded after standing champion in the NPS Silver Medal Final. Owned by Mary-Rose Bryant and ridden by her daughter, Elizabeth Etchells, this was only part of a run of super luck for the duo as they also won the Intermediate qualifier before standing champion and had a win in the Exmoor ridden class but he was pipped to the post on the Horse of the Year Show qualifier as Cuthbert secured his ticket to the prestigious event ridden by Gail Whetter. Exmoor ponies were excelling in the working hunter pony ring as Jackie Wharton's Gaoth took the course by storm winning the Open Working Hunter Pony Final before going on to stand reserve champion and also standing second place in the HOYS qualifier. One of the most consistent jumping ponies around, he's already qualified for his return trip to the Birmingham NEC. |
